Earlier this year I watched Eddie Izzard's "Marathon Man" documentary for the first time. His story of personal loss, having lost his mother as a child and his transformation into this marathon man with renewed zest for life, resonated deeply with me.
I lost my mother shortly after 9/11 to breast cancer that came back from a five year remission, eventually spreading to the brain. She was only 50.
Running has transformed me into this journeyman, inspired by Eddie's run around the UK, I decided to craft together my own 500km run from Zurich to Salzburg this summer.
I will run for Planned Parenthood, a cause that provides the support and mechanisms for women's health and well-being, to gain all resources necessary to prevent such fates as my mother faced, and endless others.
Follow me on my journey, as I will post endless pictures and blogs. Spread the word, tell your friends, and let's support this benevolent cause which is currently being defunded.
