Mission HOMES is a newly formed nonprofit located in St. Louis MO. Our organization comes in a great time of need. The largest homeless shelter in St. Louis has closed its doors. We want to step in and have the backs of our homeless Veterans. It is their courage that has provided us the freedom and rights that we enjoy every day. There isn’t any reason that the men and women who have served our country, should have to come back and not have a place to live. This has given birth to our fight! Mission H.O.M.E.S. (Housing Our Many Extraordinary Soldiers). We are doing our part for the men and women who have served. We plan to remodel or build each home to be universal build compliant. If necessary, we will make additional modifications for ADA compliance as well. The veteran and his or her family members must be the sole tenants always. Said tenants are responsible for all property taxes, maintenance, and utilities. This will help to give pride of ownership and a sense of belonging to a community. If for any reason the veteran can no longer live in the property, the home in question will be updated to serve the needs of the next veteran. Mission HOMES will provide free, professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service and provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other agencies of government. We will be providing outreach concerning its program services to the people of the St. Louis Metro area, and to veterans and their families specifically. Mission Homes will provide a structure through which disabled/non-disabled veterans can express their compassion for their fellow veterans through a variety of programs. We estimate assisting at least 40 veterans per month and hope to provide a minimum of one home per month to a homeless or disabled veteran of metro, St. Louis, Missouri. Mission HOMES has a huge fight and a long road ahead of us. Our Veterans deserve it! We need the help of EVERYONE, tell a friend, spread the word. Every dollar matters. We must fight for THEM.
