Hello friends –
For a little over a year now, I have been living in New York City - the "greatest city in the world" and home to my beloved New York Yankees. As a boy, living in New York was always a dream of mine. Thanks to amazing family & friends, I have been able to fulfill this lifelong dream. However, since living here, I have seen that many people are unable enjoy the city in the same way I have. Being here has opened my eyes to the over one million New Yorkers facing hunger every day, 25% of them being children. In my search to help the fight against hunger, I will be running the Big Sur International Marathon on April 29th, 2018 as part of the Move For Hunger Foundation team in order to raise money and awareness for the hungry.
Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization that works with relocation companies across North America to pick up unwanted, unopened food from those who are relocating and deliver it to local food banks. To date, Move For Hunger is working with over 750 movers in 50 states and their network has collected over 8 million pounds of food! Your support will directly impact the number of people we are able to feed in the years ahead. Hunger is a year-round problem that requires a year-round solution.
I will be running this race "with" my younger brother Thomas, a plebe on West Point's Marathon Team. My fundraising goal of $1,000 is to help change the quality of life for Americans struggling with hunger. Any type of support is greatly appreciated and you’ll be helping to improve communities all around the world! Thanks for considering!
