Hi Folks, Thanks for checking this out. I've hooked up with Living Water International to raise funds to provide clean water for the roughly 600 million people who lack access it. It is not just about clean water, however. It is also about sanitation, hygiene and education. All these issues must be addressed before changes can be made and that is a part of the work of Living Water International. I've considered access to clean water to be an important concern for a while now. One of the experiences that drove this home, though not to the same level for many of those 600 million, was when Cathy and I visited Sarah when she was working at Maranatha Children's Ministry in Haiti. Besides having to drink only packaged water, we also saw the bleach wash during the dish washing process. Any water you used had to be treated. Just turning the knob wasn't happening - and we were fortunate that we had a knob to turn! For my part, I will be running the Mt. Pisgah 50k Trail Race on September 17, 2017 as a representative of Team Living Water to help bring this issue to more people's awareness, and of course to raise funds to help combat it. It might be interesting to start to note how often we use water on a daily basis, and how big of a deal it is to have that clean water available to us. Thank you for any help you can give to attack this serious problem for a large percentage of the world's people.
