myTEAM TRIUMPH needs your help getting to IRONMAN Wisconsin!!! We are excited to share that we have TWO teams that have been accepted and are heading to IRONMAN this September and we'd like to invite you to join ous on this journey!
What is myTEAM TRIUMPH
myTEAM TRIUMPH (mTT) is an athletic mentoring program that brings people of all ability levels together to build inclusion and “redefine achieve”. Our mission is to enrich the wellbeing of individuals with diverse abilities and foster lifelong relationships through community athletics.
What is IRONMAN
IRONMAN is a statement of excellence, passion, commitment. It is a test of physical toughness and mental strength. IRONMAN is about persevering, enduring and being a part of something larger than ourselves. It shows the heights that can be achieved when we push beyond our boundaries and go the distance to earn the title... IRONMAN! IRONMAN consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and finishes with a 26.2-mile run. Athletes competing in this prestiges race must complete the course in 17 hours.
myTEAM TRIUMPH & IRONMAN
myTEAM TRIUMPH's approach to IRONMAN is in many ways similar to any able bodied triathlete, however we compete as a team, a team that consists of a Captain and an Angel(s). Our athlete teams go through all the gruling training and countless hours in the pool, on the bike, and on the road in hopes of crossing the finishline and beconing an IRONPERSON.
This year, we are excited to be sending two teams to compete in IRONMAN Wisconsin; Team Autumn and Team Tom!
Team Autumn: Captain Autumn, Angel Chad
Team Tom: Captain Tom, Angel Jana, Angel Cliff, Angel Summer
But getting there isn't easy, and that's where you come in, we need YOUR help! Our goal is to raise $20,000, would you consider donating and helping us send Team Autumn and Team Tom to IRONMAN Wisconsin.

myTEAM TRIUMPH is more than just a running club and built of people that are more than just triathletes....
We’ve learned that people with disabilities lack the opportunity to build impactful relationships in our community, so mTT provides a framework that brings people of all ability levels together in a fun, team base and inclusive endurance event experience. And what we’ve found is that this approach results in a more inclusive community.
mTT Programs & Services: mTT partners with existing events to bring a team environment, support structure/staff and adaptive equipment so to provide people with disabilities the chance to experience the thrill of a road race or triathlon. Individuals with disabilities are called “Captains” while their able-bodied guides (3 per team) are called “Angels”. The Captain is the leader of the team while the Angels are there to ensure their Captain has a successful training and racing experience. Captains range in age and severity of disability. We serve anyone who normally cannot participate in an endurance event due to his or her challenge. Teams utilize adaptive equipment to the level that is necessary for the Captain to participate. Some Captains are at a higher ambulatory level and require more encouragement and emotional support from their Angels, while others have more severe limitations and require specialized racing chairs, boats and bike trailers which the Angels take turns pushing and pulling through an event.
We focus on an INCLUSION in our communities: What makes mTT unique is it creates a sense of belonging within the team and within the community. For a given event, mTT partners with clubs or stores to conduct training events with sometimes multiple teams. It’s not uncommon to have 10-20 Captains and 20-40 Angels come together on a given week night for a training run! The bonds that are created help us meet our mission…. “To enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals with disabilities by fostering lasting, authentic relationships through the teamwork environment of endurance athletics.” This community focus is what makes endurance events so valuable for our “able-bodied” participants. For people with disabilities, it is even more valuable.
What's the need: For most people with disabilities, the word “can’t” is part of their daily dialogue. What if there were opportunities to take those barriers down? To remove them on a physical, emotional and spiritual level! What if people with disabilities had something to drive them to succeed in and out of life? Something that helped them focus on what’s possible? What if we ALL had these opportunities? myTEAM TRIUMPH is not just for people “with disabilities”. It’s for everyone. We all have the same goal of living healthy, impactful and connected lives. Training and racing opportunities provide an essential venue for this to take place! This is “redefine achieve”!
