The Nashua Police Department hockey team will be skating in the 2018 Heroe's Cup in support of the Heart Warrior Foundation. The Heart Warrior Foundation was created by the DiFava (Caitlin and Matt) and Adamson (Bill and Kim) families who were directly affected by Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) in their two children Genevieve and Will. After seeing firsthand the impact CHD's have on the entire family unit, the DiFavas and Adamsons decided to create a nonprofit organization in which the goal is to support, educate, and raise funds and awareness for families affected by CHDs. The four main goals of the Heart Warrior Foundation are : 1.) Improve health, quality of life and overall outcomes of children affected by Congenital Heart Defects through funding advancements in research and hospitals. 2.) Support families during the acute inpatient hospital setting to make hospital stays less stressful. 3.) Support the advancement of continuing education of medical professionals and high school students through financial scholarship. 4.) Develop a stronger support network and recognition of siblings of children affected by Congenital Heart Defects.
