Northeast Boston Rescue (NEBTR) is comprised of volunteers based in NY, NJ,PA, DE, CT and parts of MD, and serves Boston Terriers in need within reach of our helping hands. No one at NEBTR is paid, we are all volunteers. Most dogs in foster care for placement are adolescent to adult dogs in need of re-homing in life for a multitude of reasons and will need caring hands to guide them as they transition into new homes. All of our rescue dogs are fostered and evaluated for a 2 week minimum to allow us to assess their personality and provide them with basic foundation skills - House/Crate training, basic manners - to ease their transition into new homes. It is our belief such work in foster care better prepares dogs for success and helps forms lasting bonds.
Bonded dogs stay together. Dogs with behavioral problems get professional training, mill dogs learn to be pets. Sick dogs get life saving proceedures, and unadoptiable dogs stay in foster care supplied with all they need, surrounded by love.
5 month old Storm came to NEBTR on May 4th with a prolapsed rectum. The saddest part of this story is that this is the 6th time this has happened to her since 2/14/18. On 2/27/18 she had surgery to remove 3.4" of her colon and a few weeks later it prolapse again.
NEBTR had Storm in surgery the same day we picked her up. They did a procedure called a Purse String and we are hopeful this will get her to the next step. She needs about 2 weeks for her intestines to calm down before the vets can attempt to balloon the stricture. We are all pulling for this little girl!
NEBTR committed to a series of operations to make this girl healthy. The total cost will be around $7000 if we can get her through each step.
Angel came to NEBTR from a shelter. She is a BT mix that has a very large mass on her neck/jaw line. The vet said it was caused by some kind of trauma. Perhaps she was hit by a car or kicked? We will never know for sure, but her surgery will run about $2,000 conservatively due to the location of the mass. Angel is such a sweet dog. Her tail is in perpetual movement, because she is so happy to be with someone who cares.
These deserving dogs along with 25 others plus the dogs that are not adoptable that NEBTR keeps as forever fosters are taxing our funds. Please help us by making a donation. You make it possible for NEBTR to do what we do. Together we are saving lives.
