HELP US RAISE FUNDS! The Northern Valley Greenway is an initiative to build an 8-mile-long, linear park running through Tenafly, Cresskill, Demarest, Closter, Norwood & Northvale.
With your help, we will convert unused CSX rail line into walking, jogging and bike trails, seating with amenities like refreshment kiosks, dog parks, exercise stations and art. Even with wide community, business and government support, we still need YOU...your ideas, your support and your feedback to shape what’s next. Your Greenway. Your Way.
JOIN OUR FUNDRAISING COMPETITION! Each town along the Greenway is competing in a friendly fundraising competition with prizes for donors and fundraisers.

WHAT WILL FUNDS BE USED FOR? To build the park, the land must be purchased from CSX Transportation. While most of the acquisition and construction funds will come from federal, state and foundation sources, our goal is to jumpstart the process with private funds for initial negotiations, environmental assessment, conceptualization, engineering and more.
All donations to the Northern Valley Greenway via the Tenafly Rotary Club Charitable Organization 501(c)3 are fully tax deductible to the extent of the law.
The Northern Valley Greenway is a cooperative service project of the Rotary Clubs of Tenafly, Northern Valley & Cresskill/Demarest and an inter-local municipal initiative with official resolutions of support from the Mayor and Councils of the six boroughs along the line. The NJ Bike & Walk Coalition has an advisory role on the committee.
