Mental illness makes it difficult for children to be successful in school, for parents to obtain and maintain stable employment, and for anyone to cope with the demands in life leading to financial troubles or worsening health problems.
Join us in providing accesible, language specific, and affordable mental health services for families and individuals across all our programs.
Your gift can provide the following:
$50 purchases materials for parents to promote mindfulness and stress-reduction
$80 supports 2 hours of in-home bilingual mental health counseling for new mothers screened for depression
$100 provides one counseling session for a child, youth or adult recovering from trauma
$500 provides life skills workshops for youth participating in Youth Initiatives' school specific group services
$1,000 provides 10 mental health counseling sessions
$3,000 provides 12 support group sessions for up to 12 youth
Your support will change lives for people across Northern Virginia.
Will you donate now to build our neighbors' well-being and help our entire community thrive?
Why are we participating?
NVFS was selected to advance to the next phase of the grant process for A Community Thrives grant, a part of USA Today. If we reach our goal of $6,000, we are eligible to receive grants from the Gannett Foundation for up to $100,000 to support our mental health services.
Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) provides tools, resources, and above all, hope, for families and individuals in need. With the help of donors, volunteers, corporate and civic groups, we empower more than 34,000 people every year to improve their quality of life.
