Having Ceramics in the Art Curriculum is an excellent way of building motor skills, self-esteem, self-expression and problem solving skills. Ceramics also aids sensory development. Clay is a unique medium, which lends itself to molding, forming, and building. Working with clay moves students out of the typical “sit and learn” atmosphere to a “stand, create, and learn” environment.
Clay is the one medium that allows students to gain knowledge of the Elements of Art such as: shape, form, and perspective. They gain knowledge of planning methods and problem solving as they map out their three dimensional project. With the use of a kiln, students will be able to preserve their artwork forever.
Please considering donating to help us meet our #GIvingTuesday goal so that our students will be able to preserve their artwork forever with our new Kiln.
