On November 4, 2018, I will be running in the NYC Marathon in hopes of raising money for Odyssey House, a NY based organizaion that provides comprehensive and innovative services to individuals who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction or from mental illness. I have had the privilege to run for this important cause in the past and many of you have generously supported me and Odyssey House. As the opioid crisis spreads across the country and so many individiuals and families are affected, the Odyssey House does important work in the NY area and beyond. Since 1967, Odyssey House has provided innovative services and programs to a broad population of individuals and families struggling with substance use and mental health disorders.
The first Odyssey House opened in 1967 in East Harlem and provided treatment for 17 former addicts. It quickly grew into one of the country’s preeminent therapeutic communities. Over the last 50 years, Odyssey House treatment centers have opened up across the country – in Utah, Louisiana, Michigan and Texas – and in countries as far away as Australia and New Zealand.
Please help me to raise money for this impotant and impactful organization that helps so many individuals and families that need these life saving services.
