Thank you, thank you!
My dad, David C. Rusinack (DCR), always says, “thank you, thank you!” Probably because just saying it once is never enough to express his appreciation. So this year in honor of my father, I’m running to raise funds for an organization called Operation Gratitude. It's a group of that says thank you to service members by sending care packages filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation.
My goal is to raise $2,000, which will send about 133 care packages to service members deployed overseas or about 667 care packages to first responders here in the US. Your donation will go directly to Operation Gratitude, and is tax deductible. 100% of your donation here goes directly to the organization. A $15 donation will Send a Care Package to a service member deployed overseas or 3 Care Kits to First Responders here at home.
This year I’m competing in my first olympic distance triathlon, and will be running my second marathon with the Marines. Overall, I'll be competing in the following:
- Patriot's Triathlon (Sept 9) ✅ Finished
- Navy-Air Force Half Marathon (Sept 17) ✅ Finished
- Army Ten-Miler (Oct 8) ✅ Finished
- Marine Corps Marathon (Oct 22) ✅ Finished
- Pacer's Veteran's Day 10k (Nov 12) ✅ Finished
That’s 87.56 miles. (Not counting all the miles put in while training all summer long.) I would run a million more if it meant my dad could be there to see the finish line.
A little more about Operation Gratitude
