Roughly 50% of cats in shelters don’t make it out alive.
You can help save their lives by making a gift today! Even better - we'll DOUBLE YOUR DONATION!
In June, we launched Operation C.A.T. (Cat Action Team) in partnership with Fort Wayne’s Animal Welfare Coalition. This new program aims to reduce euthanasia through targeted sterilization of Allen County’s roughly 16,0000 stray and feral felines.
UtiIlizing a method called Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), Operation C.A.T. is helping to manage feline overpopulation. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear tipped and microchipped. After surgery, they return to the area where they were found and a caretaker provides them with ongoing food, water and shelter.
Your gift today will support Operation C.A.T.’s life-saving efforts. And thanks to a generous donor, your gift will be DOUBLED through 10/31/17!
Because stray and feral cats are unsocialized and rarely adoptable, they're at extremely high risk for euthanasia in shelters. Will you help reduce shelter death in our area? Your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar to save twice as many lives.
Just one pair of unaltered cats can result in as many as 72 offspring over the course of 18 months. When these stray cats and kittens enter shelters, they drain already-limited resources and take up space - resulting in near certain death for them and decreased chances for survival for adoptable animals.
Your generosity will directly impact Fort Wayne’s euthanasia rate by preventing unwanted litters of kittens and minimizing shelter intake. And right now, your donation will go twice as far. Thanks to a generous donor, your gift will be MATCHED to DOUBLE your impact!
