Hello there! :) As you may or may not know, the island of Puerto Rico has suffered greatly during this last year due to the effects of hurricane Maria. Almost 1 year later & there is still so much to be done.
Before the hurricane, the island was overpopulated with stray dogs & cats. After the hurricane, you can imagine, there were even more strays. Animals are also abandoned constantly, left to fend for themselves ): Shelters are over populated & can no longer hold animals that are brought from the streets ):
Recently, I rescued a dog off the streets who seemed to be living in the parking lot, by the food court of Plaza Las Americas (one of Puerto Rico's largest malls).
He was immediately given a bath, then taken to the Humane Society for a vet check up. He weighs 36 lbs & was diagnosed with:
-2 Blood Parasites
-Tape & Hook worm
-Ticks (which gave him the parasites) all over his body
He is required to take several medicated pills a day in order to heal his body fully, will need to be castrated, & has begun the process of receiving all the necessary vaccinations. He is currently residing in a veterinary clinic so he can be given the proper care needed. I visit him everyday & everyday he is thriving & seems so happy!
I happily have been supporting this dog in need but in order to continue to give him the best life possible & the care needed & a future forever home, I need your help! Would you be so inclined to help Leo (the name given for vet records)??? Any donations help & will be greatly appreciated! If by any chance more money is raised than asked for, the proceeds will go towards shelters & organizations of Puerto Rico who rescue animals for a living <3 Thank you for your time and God Bless All! :)
