My dad had no work for the past decade and got another girl pregnant abroad.
Our home almost got taken away when our debt amounted to 10000USD, and we just plead for a restructure of payment. Now we have to pay for it again. It'll cost us roughly 30000USD up front or 75000USD deferred at 300USD every month for the next 25 years.
The combined income of us three siblings only amounts to 1000USD/month.
Taxes shave off one fourth of that, 250USD.
Food for us 3 siblings and our mother costs 300USD.
That means we only have 150USD left over each month.
The above has to cover other expenses like house repairs, internet, water, and electricity.
My sister will have her own family to take care off soon so her contribution will be lower.
My brother is 28 and has less than 1000USD in his savings. I doubt he'll get married anytime soon since he's antisocial, but for him to have no money for himself for the next 20 years is horrible.
I'm forced to have a job in the metro with a commute of 6 hours every day. This is the only job that will get me 400USD a month. Without that, we'd be in the red and have to rely on relatives' money.
If our mortgage gets paid off, we'd actually have money for ourselves. I'd have more options and not shave off a fifth of my life on commute.
Right now, I'm just waiting for opportunities locally or abroad that will let me shoulder at least 70% of the debt without killing me.
Any amount that would lessen the burden is appreciated.
