Ventures empowers low-income entrepreneurs to move out of poverty through small business ownership. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by April 30 to triple the amount of customized coaching per client. There is a huge demand for our services, as we are only able to accept 1/3 of the applicants for our entry level training program.
I have proudly been a coach and member of the Ventures board for five years. It has been greatly rewarding to see our clients enter our Business Basics course and refine their ideas and ultimately become a viable business. Taking an idea, product or skill and creating a business around that concept can be a daunting task. That is where Ventures comes in. Ventures provides basic and advanced business training in areas such as strategy, marketing and finance, and provides guidance on how to start and grow an organization. Ventures also provides retail incubation space at the Pike Place Market as well as commecial kitchen availability in Central Seattle. Moreover, micro-loans are available for those who don't have access to traditional credit as well as other lending and savings plans to launch and grow small businesses.
With your support, a single mom of two can become a CEO of her own small business; a disabled veteran can launch his dream business; or a young, ambitious immigrant can achieve the American Dream. Thank you for pitching in and supporting a mission that is making a difference in our community.
