This is a community effort in partnership with Dallas Parks and Texas Park and Wildlife.
The volunteer based effort and hard work addresses Injuries to over one thousand species of beneficial animals and their habitat due to pesticide, herbicide exposure and permanent damage to the habitats of native wildlife within 163 acres adopted by the Blackland Prairie Program (www.blacklandprairies.org).
The Blackland Prairies Program of the Friends of White Rock Lake (501c3) EIN 75-2500743 (www.friendsofwhiterocklake.org started in mid 2015 to save the native pollinators of a unique and rare prairie habitat for lost, extinct extirpated and endangered species of wildlife. The BP program has activities and education programs that parallel with learning and taking action to save these animals and to learn first responder training skills.
Friends of White Rock Lake is a part of a 25 year effort to save lives and has now established the Blackland Prairies Program and Polli-Nation Station app to protect the flora and fauna at White Rock Lake, the largest inner city lake in the nation, (http://greenbee.org/about/),our group realized were were loosing native species important to keep alive other native species, bees, songbirds, coyotes, bobcats, fox, birds, reptiles, fish, etc. at the lake.
