It is with a heavy heart that we have come to take this decision.
PARA has decided to put all rescuing operations on hold, NO MORE ANIMALS.
We as a team have stressed out limits, have lost our voices and we regret to say that there is no improvement on a large scale- In more detail there are no improvements from the core of the problem.
This doesn’t mean we have lost our passion for animals or giving up- no we will not give up but we have decided to reinvest our time and effort in spreading awareness and education for now.
With the incurring bills, food, medical bills, transportation cost, boarding bills, medicine bills.... you name it!
Yes we are a rescue group but we are charged for everything! And we are in no position to incur such amounts to our names as firstly it’s a responsibility and secondly we could legally be held responsible for such huge amounts.
Yes money does talk in rescue!
At the end of the day we are working with profitable businesses, yes they help but at the end of the day they want their money and profit and there is not much we can do about that.
We have begged, begged and begged! Not for us! But for the animals ! For the animals OF THE UAE. Animals that live in the deserts where we go camp , animals that scavenger for food in the industrial areas where you fix your cars and animals that eat leftover from the bin outside your door. Yes those are the animals we are talking about.
The animals left behind cause you just couldn’t afford the relocation even when given options of help, the pet you over bred to death, the pet that you discarded when they got old, the puppies and kittens you dumped after they fell sick! They poor helpless animals that is dumped at a pound and has 24 hours to find a home! Or a foster home.
These are some circumstances that these animals have been through.
We have never ever let anyone or any animal down and we have never said NO regardless of size, breed, temperament or sickness, but saying no is something we now need to learn.
Sharing this post with you is breaking our hearts but there is no other option at the moment, today- we have been asked to take on 6 dogs! And 5 cats ! And many more messages that we don’t even have the heart to open. What will happen to these animals, hopefully another rescue steps up and does their part! We can only wish for the best.
Saying this we would like to thank everyone who supported us in raising funds, and hosting dinners, selling stuff, participating in our auction, spreading the word and most of all helping us stand tall.
We still have a huge amount to cover, that we are receiving non stop calls and emails about. Our account has also now been blocked, due to the vet no longer wanting to work with PARA for the outstanding bills.
We do believe everything will eventually fall into place- but we also believe we have done our part and this permanent support from us is not an option.
And permanent support doesn’t mean permanent funds; but have a thought if there was a vet that could be utilized by the government just for the rescues in the UAE. Wouldn’t that make everything so much easier, the rest can be managed.
Thank you for supporting, till we can help again .. let’s hope the community stand together for the sake of animals!
