Gladys is a 17 year old girl from motozintla, in Chiapas, Mexico. Unfortunately Gladys suffers from Accute inflammatory polyneuropathy and scoliosis, wich are diseases that affect her spinal column. Since her spinal column has an inclination of 70 degrees to the right, her bones are actually hurting her lungs, making it dificult for her to breathe.
In order for her to being able to walk again she needs to be operated on a child’s hospital on Mexico City, which means that once you turn 18 you can’t be received in that hospital. Another huge concern with Gladys is that she is less than a year away of turning 18, so time is running low. Also, the price of this operations is pretty high ($8,000 dollars approximately) so we are trying to raise an important sum of money to help Gladys be operated and walk again.
This cause is raised by a group of High-school students who just want to help this girl in such a difficult situation, and develop some new abilities and capabilities in the process, such as leadership and social awareness. We encourage everyone that’s reading this to make a difference and donate! Every single dime counts!
