The notion of selfless service and community-focused work has become greatly undervalued. I am committed to reinvesting in these values during my year with PULSE. I got excited about the PULSE program for a few reasons. First of all, it allows me the opportunity to grow as a leader in the nonprofit world, and gain valuable skills that I will take with me after my year with PULSE. Additionally, PULSE’s values resonate strongly with my own. A commitment to service, building a strong community, and doing my part to create change in a city as inspiring as Pittsburgh motivated me to participate in this program.
Part of my first task as a PULSE participant is to assemble a team of people who will support me in this work. I realize that I can’t do this work alone, that I need others to come alongside me and partner with me. Sharing this journey with others is so valuable to me!
If you are financially able, I would greatly appreciate your support in this work. I have set a personal fundraising goal of $2,500 to cover expenses for this year of service and leadership. Not only would a donation support this upcoming year’s cohort of young leaders, but it is also truly a way to support the transformation of Pittsburgh through community-driven work and service.
