When I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at the end of this past April, I knew I was ending a chapter and beginning a new journey as a recent college graduate.
After careful delibiration of my next steps into the real world, I decided to join the PULSE program in Pittsburgh, PA. PULSE is a year long program that cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. They invite recent, college graduates (like myself) to partner with local nonprofits for a year of service and leadership.
I am excited to be a part of PULSE for many reasons. For the past four years I got to experience Pittsburgh, and now I have the opportunity to connect more to the city and its inhabitants and work with other fellows to give back to the community. My hope for this year is to grow as a professional, learn how to engage in my community, and give my time to a worthy cause. I am also excited to step out of my comfort zone and live with other fellows, while learning just how non-profits in Pittsburgh make a difference.
Part of my first task is to assemble a team of people who will support me in this work. I realize that I can’t do this work alone, that I need others to come alongside me and partner with me in this journey. Would you please consider supporting me in this work? I am in the process of raising a minimum of $2,500 to cover expenses for this year of service and leadership. Your support will in turn help impact the lives of Pittsburgh’s most vulnerable.
Thank you for your support! :)
