Hi all! As I'm sure you're aware, I do a lot of running and I've been looking for ways to use that as a platform for giving back to the community. I'll be running the Prospect Park 10k for CAMBA on April 21. Here's a little blurb about what CAMBA is and what they do:
"CAMBA provides services that connect people with opportunities to enhance their quality of life. Our services reach more than 45,000 individuals and families each year, including 10,000 youth, and brings critical programs to a diverse cross section of New Yorkers, from new mothers in Brownsville to young people in after-school programs in East New York to job seekers in the Rockaways.
Your support makes it possible for CAMBA to keep families facing homelessness from being evicted, and brings literacy classes and job training programs for immigrants and low-income adults. Your support also helps young people stay engaged and excel academically and, later, go on to enroll in college. Together, we can make a stronger Brooklyn."
So if you have a little bit to spare, please consider donating. At a time when it feels a little bit like everything is crumbling around us, it's important to keep moving towards positive growth in our communities so matter how small that might seem.
