The Angel House is an underground 501c3 non profit organization that helps victims/survivors of domestic violence escape their abusers. We have monthly fundraisers to raise money to purchase bus/train/plane tickets to send the victims/survivors to another state so that they can have a fresh new start in life for themselves or for them and their children.
The Angel House was founded by Karen R. Lewis. She was a victim of domestic violence by her former husband and was inspired to start The Angel House after her daughter eight months pregnant at the time, was stabbed to death by her boyfriend. Karen lost her beloved daughter Tracy Renee Anderson and unborn granddaughter Ashton MaKenna Rae to this horrific act of violence on March 22, 2014. Therefore Karen decided to retire from her employment after 23 years to become a advocate for domestic violence for the rest of her life.
Karen has use all of the insurance money from her daughter's insurance policy to open The Angel House, June 1, 2017, so that she will be able to save a life everyday. Now that the funds have run out she chosen to keep this organization up and running. Therefore she has a fundraiser every month to keep the doors open for this organization.
The Angel house is not a shelter!!! We are a organization that helps victims escape their abusers to start a fresh new life for themselves by providing transportation from one state to another for NEW beginnings.
