The story of the bumblebee is one that reflects the story of many of our men, women and children who have experienced homelessness and/or domestic violence. You see, the bumble bee’s body is disproportionately large relative to it’s wings. Scientists have long wondered how they are able to fly at all. The weight seems too much to bear. And the story of the bumblebee pertains to our clients and each of us. It is precisely the bee’s resilience and the ability to grow past assumptions and stereotypes that we hope our clients gain while in shelter.
In conjunction with Bags to Riches, our Queen Bee's are raising funds to further support the shelter services at Catholic Charities - Harbor House and St. Anthony Family Shelter. Funds will go directly to providing assistance to homeless families as well as women and children experiencing domestic violence.
