Our Staff Assistants' dedication to a healthy lifestyle through regular running and walking has been rewarded with two New York City Marathon entry bibs, which will be used by longtime runners on Ramapo's staff: our CFO, Bruce Kuziola, and Staff Assistant Experience Program Supervisor, Antonio Velez!
Looking to add more inspiration to the participating Staff Assistants’ running routines, last year Ramapo’s Fitness Director, Adrianna Conklin, signed them up to join the free New York Road Runners program, which tracked the amount of miles each participant accumulated on their runs or walks every week. This dedication awarded the group with two marathon entry bibs!
If you're tracking the marathon on Sunday, November 5th, look out for Bruce (55348) and Antonio (56626). Although Ramapo's Staff Assistants have accomplished so much, there are still so many goals they want to reach, and we're asking you to join us in supporting their continued growth and skill development by making a donation. Through the donations made by our generous friends, we can ensure these exceptional young adults have the resources needed to continue acquiring and enhancing social, learning and job skills, and healthy habits that will enrich their lives as they strive for independence.
About Ramapo for Children and our Staff Assistant Experience:
At the heart of our work is the conviction that all children seek the same things: to learn, to feel valued, and to experience success. Through direct-service youth programs and highly regarded training programs for adults, Ramapo works on behalf of children and young adults who face obstacles to learning, enabling them to succeed in the classroom, at home, and in life.
The Staff Assistant Experience is a year-round, residential transition-to-independence program for young adults ages 18-25 with social, emotional and learning challenges. Our program is based on Ramapo's Rhinebeck, NY campus, where participants work with staff members and mentors to develop and enhance social, vocational and life skills.
