The Humane Society for Southwest Washington is my hometown humane society. I have volunteered with them and witnessed first-hand their remarkable work and dedication. They serve the community in so many amazing ways, with a strong committment to ending the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals. As an open-admission shelter, HSSW accepts companion animals regardless of breed, health or behavior and still boast a save rate of over 90%.
Please help me in supporting the life-saving efforts of the Humane Society for Southwest Washington by making a donation today.
Calamity for a Cause
Calamity Jane and Ranielle will be running in the 5K for this event. (Much to Calamity's chagrin, to be sure. Hopefully the excitement of running with other people and dogs will motivate her towards the finish line!)
Since her adoption on February 14, 2013, Calamity Jane has worked tirelessly to promote awareness of animal-related causes and foster a spirit of giving not only in her own home but in her community at large.
On behalf of Calamity for a Cause, donors are welcome to claim up to 2 large dog toys, 3 small dog toys or 6 cat toys for every $5 donated. Toys are handmade by Ranielle with Blizzard fleece. They are durable, slightly stretchy, and machine washable. For the past two years, these homemade toys have made their way to area humane societies as part of Calamity for a Cause's annual February Puppy Love Donation Drive. (Contact Ranielle directly to arrange toy delivery after making your donation!)
