CC's life changed forever in June of 2016 when she was shot in the back. She was left paralyzed from the waist down and after 8 days in the hospital came to Ranken Jordan because she needed care and rehabilitation beyond what her family could provide. In her time at Ranken Jordan, CC has gone on community integration trips to Cardinals games, and participates in activities like adaptive golf, cooking club, therapeutic art, and participates in sports like basketball. At 13, she is ready to return home. "I'm ready to get back into my routine. While things have changed and I have changed, I'm still a normal kid," she says.
Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital provides rehabilitative therapy for children up to 21 years through our Care Beyond the Bedside model. Patients with the most medically complex conditions are up an out of their beds participating in everyday kid activities like playing to activate the child's natural instincts to grow and heal so they can transition home and stay home!
