The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) offers compassionate care to all those grieving the loss of a military loved one.
-As a fellow member of the Armed Forces, I understand that these families, also signed the dotted line, just like the Service Member. These families are signing up for missed births and birthdays, first words, holidays spent apart and a life of sudden changes. The 1% of Americans that sign up with their families do so, so that every other American can live a normal life. That is something that we, as a nation, need to continue to cherish.
- In the Iraq and Afghanistan war, the US had over 6,000 KIA Service Members. That is over 6,000 moms, dads, sons, daughters, wives and husbands that have had to piece together their life and continue on and support their family after the loss of a loved one. Those 6,000 members gave the Ultimate Sacrifice so that every one of us would not have too. That should be HONORED.
- TAPS is there to help the family through that challenging time and offer assistance and services, to ensure that Gold Star family is not forgotten. If you are interested in learning what else TAPS does please visit www.taps.org
