This campagin - like the rest of my work with The Susie Foundation - is incredibly simple: I want to help others facing the same challenges my family has faced, while keeping alive my mother's legacy of selfless service to her community.
In November 2009, my Mom was diagnosed with ALS. Though I was living in New Orleans at the time, I quickly moved back to Connecticut and assumed my role as her full-time caregiver.
Spending those many months by her side gave me the incredible opportunity to learn first-hand about the multide of physical, emtional, psychological, and spirtual challenges of ALS caregiving, while allowing me to develop a depth of relationship with my Mom that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Since her passing in 2011, I've been motivated to help others in similar circumstances. By contributing to our work at The Susie Foundation, I've been able to personally give back and help support other families, just like mine, who are experiencing the challenges of ALS.
And this year will be no different.
With three races on the calendar - and the goal to raise $1750 for families across southern New England - I'm depending upon you to help me get there.
Thank you in advance for considering a donation to my campaign and, should you have any questions or concerns, please don't ever hesitate to contact me directly.
