Second Line Arts Collective is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is devoted to giving students aged 14-19 the tools necessary to thrive as professional artists. Traditionally, arts education programs focus solely on developing artists’ craft and technique. We believe that our student musicians are budding entrepreneurs. As such, our flagship program, the Sanaa Music Workshop, focuses on facilitating a world-class music education while simultaneously providing the business tools necessary to create the modern entrepreneurial artist. At the end of the two-week session, students will have a basic understanding of music business practices: branding, music management, touring, social media, and the creation and distribution of original content.
What you can do to help.
By contributing to this project you will directly affect a student's life. We will use the funds collected to provide scholarships, financial aid, lunch, and pay for other operating expenses. Reduced rates and scholarship opportunities will be available to students who qualify because you have decided to be a part of the solution. Dismantling financial barriers for arts education is one of the many obstacles we intend to fight. In order to do these things, we need to raise 4,000 dollars. This money will fund this years camp and allow us to provide a high-quality educational experience for little to no cost.
Traditional music programs do not offer instruction that merges Arts Education with business strategy.
Interactive lectures and classes from music and business industry leaders as well as various classes on marketing, branding, publishing, and other practical tools that all students will need in the real world. One on one instrumental instruction, built-in mentorship programs, and a diverse and need-based enrollment process.
