Hi! As many of you know, I have obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I was diagnosed when I was 12 years old. As much as it has been a struggle dealing with the stigma around OCD and the overall anxiety that it brings, I am fortunate enough to have supportive friends and family who have stuck by my side for over 10 years while I battle through this.
OCD is NOT keeping your room clean. It is NOT keeping neat little organized boxes in your room. It is NOT glamorous or cute. OCD is a mental disorder that causes anxiety, depression, and embarassment. I am walking to end the stereotypes of OCD, and the overall impact mental health has on a person's life.
I am also walking in special rememberance of my dear high school friend, Jessica, who committed suicide last year. Let's end the stigma, let's work on our mental health.
All money from my fundraising page will be donated to the International OCD Foundation and The American Foundation For Suicde Prevention.
