Friends of the Rouge recently learned that our funding partner has decided not to fund Friends of the Rouge's Benthic Macroinvertebrate Monitoring Program for 2018 due to a shift in their funding priorities.
We learned this quite recently and are struggling to find replacement funding so that we do not have to cancel the 2018 Spring and Fall Bug Hunts.
This program has been around for 19 years, involving hundreds of people in learning about the river and collecting data that is used to screen for problems and guide restoration efforts.
The funding loss is $30,000 but we can do the program at a bare bones level at $20,000.
We have raised enough to fund the Stonefly Search but the Spring and Fall Bug Hunts are still at risk.
Please help in any way you can.
