oday, under nutrition is still the leading cause of death of young children in Uganda and the world. For children under the age of two, the consequences are particularly severe, often irreversible and reach far into the future. By focusing on improving nutrition for mothers and children in the 1000 days window, we can help ensure a child can live a healthy and productive life.
FTCU supported a number of households with farm inputs, trainings in modern and cost effective agricultural methods . The programme is designed in such a way that it provides for intensive practical and theoretical training to caregivers in the 1000 days of life, proper food handling, and post harvest handling methods. These series of trainings have given caregivers an opportunity to practice the skills learnt during training and gradually enable them gain experience and develop confidence.
