For the 4th straight year, Joseph Penrod and I will be swimming, biking and running as a team in the Motor City Triathlon on June 24th to raise awareness and funds to help battle the disease he's been fighting so valiantly, Duchenne. Joseph was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy when he was 5 years old. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is the most common degenerative genetic muscle disease in boys affecting 1 in 3500 boys. As most boys are growing stronger and gaining independence, boys with Duchenne are losing muscle function and mobility. We can’t always decide the circumstances that we’ve been handed, but we can decide how we handle them. Giving rise to hope through action, Team Joseph works on behalf of all young boys and their families who have been affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy. We can’t do it alone – we invite you to join the team! Defeating Duchenne together, we will change and save lives. Joseph and I would greatly appreciate your donation to help fight Duchenne. Your support will not only help me run for the kids who can't, you'll also make a difference in the lives of these boys and their families! Joseph and I can't wait to get to the finish line once again at the Motor City Triathlon!
