The Story: Thank you for your interest in helping me save lives. This year, hundreds of thousands of people will hear the words "You have cancer." They will be people we know and love. In my case, it was my Grandfather and soon after, me! My name is Scott Lagasse Jr., age 36, and I’m alive and healthy today, as a colon cancer survivor, after I got a check-up when I felt something “not quite right” with my body while training for a triathlon. I’ve created SCREEN YOUR MACHINE™, a message to bring awareness to the fact that screening can save your life.

“For me, it is simple. When people get screened, lives are saved. This knowledge is powerful and life-changing. I didn’t realize how important screening is, but now that I know, I will spread the word and make a difference. It’s what I’m about. I wouldn’t be racing if I didn’t catch my cancer early. It is time to Screen Your Machine™ whether you feel anything new or not. The earlier you catch cancer, the better chance you have to survive and spend time with your family and friends, doing what you love. I hope you will join us for a fun experience while making a difference. Thank you.” -Scotty
