My Story: I have decided to run a few races this year to help support a great cause close to my heart, Imerman Angels. I will be participating in at least 3 races with the possibility of doing a 4th:
- 2018 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle (8k) – Completed
- 2018 Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Half Marathon (13.1m) – Completed
- 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon (26.2m) – October 7th
I’ve seen firsthand the impact this organization has had on cancer fighters and survivors. I will run in memory of my Mom, all my friends that I have lost from cancer and those that are currently in the fight/survivorship of cancer. I want to be able to help them not face cancer alone! My fundraising goal is set for $2,800. Raising this amount will help match 16 people together – 8 mentor angels with 8 cancer survivors, fighters and/or caregivers!
Shamrock Shuffle: I completed the Shamrock Shuffle in a T-Rex costume (pictured above). It was a really fun race and was awesome to represent Imerman Angels in the costume. I plan on doing many more races in that costume!!
Your Donation: For a minimum donation of $26 to Imerman Angels – I will write the name of a loved-one, friend, family member, coworker, etc. on your behalf on the back of my running jersey (pictured above). Writing these names of cancer fighters, survivors, or those who have passed helped push myself to the finish of the 2017 New York City Marathon. Be sure to leave their name or nickname in the comment section when donating to Imerman Angels!
Mentee Testimony: “Before speaking with Susan, I don't think I felt that I could truly get through this. It's tough - no walk in the park - and that is a fact that remains true. However, Susan helped me feel that the light is indeed there waiting for me at the end of the tunnel. It was probably the first time since my diagnosis that I felt securely hopeful and calm. Susan is an amazing person and I feel truly lucky to have gotten her as an Angel! I really can't say enough how helpful she has been and appreciative I feel.”
