Cure CMD’s mission is to bring research, treatments and, in the future, a cure for Congenital Muscular Dystrophies that have a profound effect on infants and children.
Malia’s disease is extremely rare; she has LMNA-deficient CMD. There are only a handful of doctors in the world who are working on Malia's type of congenital muscular dystrophy. CureCMD and MDUK (Muscular Dystrophy Association in the United Kingdom) have recently partnered to make an international call for proposals in LMNA-CMDs. Our goal is to raise $20K to fund the intial proof-of-concept study and ensure the world's best and brightest continue to work on finding a cure!
