I'm preparing for my second half marathon and I could use your help—not necessarily with the training (though tips are always welcome), but with the underlying purpose of the run—to support financially distressed Philadelphia cancer patients and the research they (and frankly we all) depend on.
Two years ago a friend and colleague nudged me to sign up for what would be my first triathlon. Across the races I've participated in since, I've come to realize how much I've benefited from my good health and frankly taken it for granted.
Events such as the MS ride (my first charity event), the Make A Wish ride (my brother's first charity event), and the Love Run remind me of the opportunity we have to translate training and competition into crucial medical advancements, and of this humbling common denominator that is one's health and wellness.
Whether it's in tracking my run (link to come as the race approaches) or contributing to this campaign, I invite you to join me in the pursuit of this common goal and the important cause underlying it. I thank you for your time and support.
