Experts agree that early childhood trauma is the single greatest health crisis facing our children. Growing up amidst poverty, violence, and illness is a reality for far too many children in our society. But, here is a glimmer of light in the dark reality: science tells us that supportive, responsive relationships with caring adults can prevent or reverse the devastating impacts of childhood trauma.
We call these caring adults Playmakers.
The Life is Good Kids Foundation recognizes Playmakers working in schools, hospitals, social service agencies, and after-school programs as uniquely positioned to help kids heal. So, we help them. We partner with them to help create optimal environments for the kids they serve (and the teams they work with) to connect, engage and explore.
We invest in more than 10,000 childcare professionals (Playmakers) each year to improve the quality of care delivered to more than 1 million kids across the United States and Haiti.
