Shelterhouse, fomerly the Drop Inn Center provides unconditional compassion and care to those who need it most – when they need it most.
As the area’s only homeless shelter open 24/7, Shelterhouse is often times the last resort for those adult men and women in our community experiencing homelessness, and who have no place to go.
In operation since 1973, Shelterhouse operates above capacity, and is working to break the cycle of homelessness in Cincinnati by providing basic human services to those who are faced with the uncertainty and unpredictability of being homeless, and by providing them the assistance they need to transition into permanent housing. Shelterhouse operates the 60 bed Esther Marie Hatton Center for Women at 2499 Reading Rd., and the 150 bed Barron Center for Men located at 411 Gest St., where provided services include counseling, education, healthcare, meals and temporary housing, all with the primary goal being to help individuals return to permanent housing. Shelterhouse also operates Emergency Winter Shelter during the coldest months of the year.
We could not provide the level of services and support to the area's homeless population without our dedicated volunteers, and the selfless contributions from local businesses and individuals.
