Rochester Rotary is thrilled to announce that we are building an exciting new addition to the Sunshine Campus – a fully accessible playground. Shirley’s Playland will feature an array of fun activities for campers, from a slide and glider, to a spinner, gravity cube, climbers, chin-up bars, ball toss, towers, a sign language panel and a sight and sound panel.
The playground is being named for Shirley Isaac, wife of past Rochester Rotary President Jim Isaac. Shirley loved children and the Sunshine Camp immensely. There is no better tribute to her memory than a fun, accessible playground at the camp.
The project is expected to be completed in spring 2019, and you have a unique opportunity to be a part of it. Whether you are a current or former camper … a camper parent … an existing or past staff member, we have a special offer for you. You can have your name – or a family member or loved one’s name – permanently placed on a wall outside the playground … simply by donating or raising at least $100 to help build it.
