SGH has created their own team to support the “Rise to the Challenge” (https://bebrave.life) competition which will be completed over the next month in support of the Be Brave for Life Foundation.
Join our team!!! FUNDRAISE WITH US!
Kayli Roe, of Sisters Giving Hope had the pleasure of meeting Riley, founder of Be Brave, in 2017 in Washington DC, at the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards for youth.
Here is Riley's Story: In 2015, Riley Callen - now 15 years old - started this non-profit after her third brain surgery to remove a tumor in her brainstem.
"Be Brave for Life" believes the only way to find better treatment options, and ultimately a cure, is by supporting innovative research, improving collaboration (amongst researchers, medical professionals, foundations and families), and creating a community around bravery and hope!
Sisters Giving Hope is fundraising to help others with benign brain tumors and other vascular malformations & disease because this fundraiser hits home with us..
Little did most know, but our own family has had their fair share with vascular issues. At a young age one of our children was diagnosed with a hemangioma, another was diagnosed with a brain venous angioma, another was diagnosed with a 4cm brain lesion, and just recently, 2018, all of our children were diagnosed with a genetic disorder called CM-AVM (capillary malformations, Arterial Venous Malformations). We are truly hoping for a cure in vascular anomalies so other families do not have to endure all that we have. Medical bills, dr appt, scans, blood work, hospital stays etc.
With your efforts ...As you raise funds to create awareness and support research for benign brain tumors and vascular issues…You will discover the power that comes from being brave!
Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts for your support!
We only have 1 month to reach our goal!
-Thank you for helping us help people
