Sept 10th is a World Suicide Prevention Day. TELL has organized an event to raise money for their Tokyo English Life Line. TELL is a nonprofit organization which offer counseling services in English to address mental health care.
More than 800,000 people take their lives each year across the world. In Japan, more than 20,000 people die by suicide a year, an average of 54 a day. Reaching out to people who are going through a difficult time can be a game changer. People who are feeling low or suicidal often feel worthless and think that no-one cares. Small things like hearing from friends or family, feeling listened to or just being told that ‘it’s ok to talk’ can make a huge difference.
This will be our first attempt to climb 600 flights of stairs to the top of Tokyo Tower on Sunday 9th Sep.
Every donation , large or small will help raise the mental health awareness. It will go directly to TELL for making their Lifeline service 24/7.
