Welcome to the NEXT STAGE of Springfield Little Theatre and The Landers Theatre!
We are raising money throughout the month of February that will go towards our $5 million Next Stage Capital Campaign for restoration projects to the historic Landers Theatre as well as towards the purchase of our very own facility for our growing education department. If you have been a longtime supporter of SLT, welcome home. We are so thankful for your continued support. If you're new to the SLT Family, we are so glad you have chosen to learn more about us and to support the work we're doing in the arts community.
Who are we?
We’re in the stories told on stage. We’re in every light cue and set piece. We’re in the very first step a kid takes in his tap shoes. We’re in the drive that it takes to push yourself to try something new. We’re in the lifelong friendships that began on the first day of a rehearsal. We’re in the confidence it takes to give a presentation at work. We’re in every smile, laugh and tear of each audience member as they’re watching a show. We’re in the conversations had on the car ride home. We’re in the feelings of security and belonging.
We are not just in our community, we are our community. The moments, feelings, conversations and relationships that are created by experiencing live theatre live in all of us. That’s magic. That’s Springfield Little Theatre.
About Springfield Little Theatre
Springfield Little Theatre began in Springfield, Missouri is 1934 as a community theatre. Since then, we have grown to purchase the historic Landers Theatre downtown where we showcase 8 full-staged productions each season with a full time staff of 12 and over 700 volunteers each year. In addition, our education department has grown to reach more than 30,000 kids a year through our workshops, classes, education series, school touring programs and more! Whether you are a patron or volunteer, or a member of the staff, audience or community, we ask you think about what Springfield would be like without a little theatre. What would your life be like without a little theatre? We are at a pivitol time in our organization where the time to stand behind your community theatre is now! Be a part of the history we're making as we restore the 109 year-old Landers Theatre and pave the way for thousands of children and families to receive arts experiences through out nationally-known education department!
