I am excited to run the 2018 Boston Marathon on behalf of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital! Spaulding is committed to improving the quality of life for patients recovering from or learning to live with spinal cord or brain injuries, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's disease, and many more illnesses, injuries, and disabilities. Spaulding also provided treatment to many survivors of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
The choice to support Spaulding was easy since they have directly benefited my family. Twenty years ago my father suffered a head injury and underwent treatment at a Spaulding facility. More recently, my wife Tracy suffered a concussion a year and a half ago, and we've been to the Spaulding Rehab Hospital in Charlestown numerous times for doctor appointments and treatment. While still experiencing some effects of the concussion, Tracy has made much progress and is planning on returning to work full time as a special education teacher at the beginning of the year.
I hope you will consider making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal of $6,000. No donation is too small. Consider a donation of:
$26.20 - A dollar for every mile of the Boston Marathon.
$122 - For the 122nd running of the Boston Marathon.
Or any amount you're comfortable contributing.
Please take a moment to see if your employer offers a matching program for charitable donations.
You can make your donation online at:
If you would prefer to send in a check, please make the check payable to Spaulding Rehab Hospital and include my name and 2018 Boston Marathon in the memo. Please send the check to:

Since 2005, more than 400 athletes have made the historic journey from Hopkinton to Boston as members of Spaulding’s Race for Rehab Team. Running for those who can’t, these dedicated individuals have raised over $4.2 million in honor of Spaulding’s patients and caregivers. These funds support clinical care, promote medical education, and advance our many research initiatives to make a difference in the lives of our patients.
Every dollar raised by the Race for Rehab team will support Spaulding’s mission to improve the quality of life for persons recovering from or learning to live fully with illness, injury or disability. Your support and investment in our hospital will help our team reach the finish line and our patients find their strength.
