Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. The 2018 Boston Marathon will be my very first marathon. I am both excited and nervous. Friends and family know that I am most comfortable in the water, so I would probably feel better if there was a swim portion of the race:) Nonetheless, I am proud to run for Spaulding and eager to raise money for a cause that my family is a part of.
I was exposed to the world of rehab at an early age. My mom and dad moved here from the Midwest when I was three, to begin a community reentry program for those with brain injuries. Some of my earliest memories revolve around playing with PT’s/OT’s and watching them teach their patients how to re-learn basic living skills at the center.
Over the years, I have witnessed my mom’s dedication to helping people with disabilities and have been inspired by her work at Spaulding. So now, I get to give back to a cause that has always been at the center of my family’s life. I am thrilled to run my first Boston Marathon and be a member of Spaulding’s Race for Rehab. I will meet my parents at the finish line to honor our family’s commitment, and support Spaulding’s mission to empower people with disabilities become whole again.
