Spaulding’s Boston Shamrocks Sled Hockey Team is Beantown’s home for competitive sled hockey. The team is made up of a group of athletes with and without physical disabilities and is played from dynamic sleds. The equipment allows players with mobility impairments to access this full contact high speed sport sitting down. In 2014 the Dr. Bernard R. and Edna M. Sears Adaptive Hockey Program gave local athletes with disabilities the opportunity to play Boston’s favorite winter sport. Just three years later, through the collaborative efforts of the Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers and Boston Shamrocks Hockey Club the Boston Shamrocks Sled Hockey team was formed. The team competes in the Northeast Sled Hockey League Adult B Division, playing games in five different states in the region. To make all of this happen we ask for your support! Contributions allow the team to compete and continue to provide the opportunity for athletes of all abilities to find their strength through hockey!
