As a Disaster Action Team (DAT) member I respond to Single Family and Apartment Fires every week in Jefferson and Shelby counties. I have witnessed up close the damage fire dose to families and homes.
I am asking you to help us save life’s by helping us install Smoke Alarms in homes of families across the country in high risk areas. On September 23rd, the American Red Cross will install 100,000 smoke alarms across the country as we SOUND THE ALARM, SAVE A LIFE. Be a silent HERO and join us with a donation to save life and help families recover from house fires.
Our team is also looking for volunteers to join us in September to install smoke alarms and educate families on fire safety. Thank you for your support.
Seven times a day someone in this country dies in a house fire and more than 60 percent of fire deaths occur in homes without working smoke alarms. As a first responder to these local tragedies, the Red Cross is working to improve the odds of survival by as much as 25 percent over the next few years. Sound the Alarm.
Save a Life is a recurring national event where Red Cross volunteers will be partnering with fire departments and community groups across the country to install FREE smoke alarms, educate families about fire prevention, and map fire escape routes.
