Four years ago, the Club picked up less than 30 kids a day. Only 30 kids from all the city and county schools. There were just so many more that needed us, and we weren’t doing them justice. Fortunately for kids though, people like YOU stepped up to the plate and started the bus for our kids.
Since then, community support has allowed us to expand our programs. We are now serving healthy meals and going to more schools. We're helping kids with their homework each day and making sure every child has adults they can look up to. It hasn't been easy, but it was possible because of people like YOU in the community.
But all of this starts with getting kids into the Club. Kids like Chloe.
Times have been hard recently. It wasn't long ago that Chloe was living with her mom and sister in their car. Her mom was out of work; they had no place to live and little access to regular meals. But because of the community, the kids were at the Club. And it was a safehaven. They could have fun. They even went on trips. And they always had healthy, warm meals.
Chloe's life is much better now. Her family is living in a home. Her mom is working and getting licensed for a better career. But if it weren't for the Club, what would that time have been like for Chloe and her sister? Chloe's mom told us, "If it wasn't for you guys, I don't know what I would have done. Even now you help us. You're open when I have to work. You make it affordable for even my family, and you feed my kids. And Chloe loves it. I owe you all so much."
500 kids came into the Club this year, and just like Chloe, the Club provids them so many things. BUT it all starts with the bus that picks them up each day.
That’s why your support matters.
When you start the bus, you ensure that we’re there for the kids who need us. YOUR gift is the key to making that happen.
This year we need to raise $25,000 if we’re going to start the bus for our kids in 2018. That’s enough to cover all of our gas, our drivers, even our bus repairs, and if we are going to bus Chloe and her 500 friends to the Club each day, $25,000 is the only way that will happen. So I ask you today: will you help us start the bus?
$25,000 is a lot of money, but with your help, it’s possible. You have the ability to get 500 kids into our Club next year. You can guarantee they have the meals, homework help, and mentors they need. You can do all of that—just by starting the bus.
A gift of $20.62 will cover the gas that we need for a day. A $50 gift will bus a child for an ENTIRE YEAR. But regardless of what someone gives, when we all come together, we get every kid who needs us into the Club. Kids like Chloe whose lives are better because of YOU.
Don’t wait! Give today!
