September is also Blood Cancer Awareness Month, and this campaign is to support Awareness but also asking folks to give. You can 1) give attention to this disease and other myeloproliferative neoplasms by going to http://www.mpnresearchfoundation.org/Understanding-MPNs, or 2) give a few dollars toward the MPN Research Foundation that funds research for this type of blood cancer, or 3) do as Steven did and give blood. Visit your local blood bank or pay attention to when the blood bank is coming to your workplace.
It is said that "For the life of the flesh is in the blood," it is fitting that Steven was a source of so much of it that he donated it constantly and helped others. By having such an abundance of blood, he had an incredible abundance for life. That will be his legacy, the lives he helped and the joy he left from someone who had so much of it to give.
